Technical Advantages
- The cylinder bodies and bores are machined simultaneously from high-quality, solid aluminum bar stock resulting in excellent bore concentricity, plus high strength, rigidity and piston rod support.
- The rod bushing — one of the air cylinder’s primary load bearing points — is made from a high-performance composite material for greater strength.
- The piston bearing and shaft work together to ensure high reliability: The composite bearing polishes the 303 stainless steel shaft while minimizing o-ring wear to provide longer shaft life and a long-lasting seal.
- Magnalube-G® Teflon-impregnated grease provides a long operating life and lubricates at a wide temperature range.

Thin Glass Grippers
Special Grippers
Special grippers can be used for applications in which regular suction cups cannot generate a vacuum. Schmalz offers a variety of special grippers with various shapes, sizes and principles of operation.
A feature of the thin glass gripper from Schmalz is its gentle and contamination free handling. The high suction capacity and large effective suction area enable secure handling of workpieces even in dynamic processes. This area gripper is used, for example, for handling of very thin display glass in automated or partially automated processes.

Touch Valves
Valve Technology
Valves are used to control the vacuum as well as the compressed air. The right valves can increase both the process reliability and the cost-effectiveness of the vacuum system.
The sensing valve checks mechanically whether the suction cup is occupied and only then opens the vacuum line.

Towable Tank
The towable tank is mainly designed to refuel forward units.
Thanks to this innovative solution, refueling can be done on board of aircrafts, helicopters and vehicles (see an example: FARP, forward advance refueling point). Indeed, depending on its storage capacity, this tank can be transported, slung or even rolled. This drop tank can be attached to a truck, a plane or a helicopter.
Made of highly resistant PVC coated fabrics and assembled by vulcanization, this towable tank is very robust. Therefore, it can be dropped full, without risk of damage. Moreover, it is resistant to extreme weather conditions.
In addition, this drop height reaches:
- 12 meters for the 200 liters,
- And 5 meters for the 1000 and 1900 liters.

Parallel Design Linear Actuators
Linearmech electromechanical linear actuators are easy-to-use and reliable products. Great and convenient alternative to the use of pneumatic cylinders recommended in case of medium to low speed application, intermittent duty cycle operation and self-locking requirement when load is applied, both pull or push load.
